Kevin Wayne Eddy, 48 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he broke into Floyd County School’s College and Career Academy and stole numerous items.

Police said that Eddy damaged a chain link fence to gain entry onto the property and stole power tools. Copper wire, GPS devices, air compressors and a welder.

Officers said that when they arrived on scene, Eddy refused to surrender and fled on foot through the woods before being captured.

Eddy is charged with second degree burglary, felony theft by taking, entering an automobile with intent to commit a felony, three counts interference with government property, and two counts obstruction of police.
