Rome High Students Place Among State’s Best at SkillsUSA Competition

Several Rome High School students recently placed among the state’s best at the SkillsUSA Championship.

Bianca Gonzalez, Claire Bice, and Karen Mendez won gold for Esthetic Design Display. Jason Whelchel and Liam Fernandes won bronze in the Drone Competition. Wyatt Cook won bronze in the Carpentry

Competition.

The SkillsUSA Championships is the premier showcase of Georgia’s technical education students. Held at SkillsUSA Georgia’s Region Championships and State Leadership and Skills Conference, this program features more than 3,000 secondary and postsecondary students from across Georgia competing head-to-head in 150+ skilled, occupational, and leadership competitions.
