A pregnant woman was airlifted to a local hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 41 at Griffin Road last Sunday. The collision resulted in four individuals suffering serious injuries.
Georgia State Patrol Troopers report that a silver Honda van was traveling north in the left lane of Highway 41, while a gray Chevrolet Traverse SUV was heading south. According to authorities, the driver of the Honda van became distracted and failed to yield, making a left turn directly in front of the Chevrolet SUV. The impact caused the SUV to strike the right front of the van.
As a result of the crash, the driver and a front passenger of the Chevrolet SUV sustained significant injuries. The female passenger of the SUV, who was 30 weeks pregnant, was airlifted to Kennestone Hospital for urgent medical care.
The male driver of the Chevrolet and a male passenger from the Honda van were transported to Floyd Medical Center by emergency medical services.
Additionally, a female passenger from the Honda van was taken to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center.
The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the incident, and charges are pending.
