Donna Clarice Pyles, 48 of Buchannan, was arrested in Cedartown after police said she stole over $500 in merchandise from the Dollar General on Cornelius Road.

Officers said that they were dispatched to the store following an audit due to money going missing.

Reports said that they were looking at Pyles, who was the employee in question.

According to reports Pyles would check customers out and if they paid cash she would abort the transaction and keep the cash.

Officers said that while questioning Pyles, she admitted to the wrongdoing.

A subsequent search results in officers finding methamphetamine, a pipe containing the drug, and a large amount of cash in her possession.

Officers advised Pyles that the cash was going to be seized be they had “enough evidence to seize the money due to it being illegally obtained through the distribution of illegal drugs”.

Pyles then told officers that the money did not come from drug sales, rather from a “ding ding” machine at a store across from Walmart, in which police told her that was illegal as well.

A GBI submission form was also completed.

Police were able to gain video footage of sixteen transactions that were aborted by Pyles.

Pyles is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects and 17 counts theft by taking.
