Stephanie Renee Cruz, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she attempted to murder a 48 year-old woman.
Police said that Cruz used her hands to strangle the victim to the point she could not breathe.
The incident occurred at a home on Superba Avenue.
Cruz is charged with aggravated assault.
