John Patrick Tant, 50 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he imprisoned and beat a woman on Valentines Day at a home on Crescent Avenue.
Reports said that Tant, while holding a knife, physically assaulted the victim.
Tant is charged with simple assault, battery and false imprisonment.
