Terry Wayne Pierce, 68 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he caused a scene that resulted in violence at the Piggly Wiggly in Lindale.
Reports stated that Pierce cursed at children and adults while using “fighting words” toward them.
Officers added that Pierce “drew his hand back in an attempt to strike the victim”.
Pierce is charged with simple battery and disorderly conduct.
