The Rome-Floyd Fire Department had one of their busiest days on record Thursday as they were dispatched to numerous wildfires around the county.
According to Division Chief Jamie Stone, the fires were the result of dry conditions and low humidity.
Fires were reported on Ga Loop 1 and ran between Ga 53 and Kingston Highway as well as on the bypass at Horseleg Creek Road.
