United Way of Gordon County has named Claire Norman as its new Executive Director.
“Claire recognizes the interconnected nature of the key challenges within our community. She is determined to utilize her skills in uniting people and mobilizing resources to address these issues,” UWGC said in an announcement. “She envisions a future for Gordon County where no individual has to make the difficult choice between food and bills and where no child goes to bed hungry.”
According to UWGC, Norman is devoted to creating safe environments for children of all ages while their parents are at work, ensuring that they return to a nurturing atmosphere, and her dream is to establish a community where domestic and child abuse is met with all the necessary support to guarantee a safer, brighter future.
The move comes after Stacy Long left her role as UWGC head in mid-November to take a position with Gordon County Government.
