Rome Man Jailed for Beating Woman in front of Child

Harold Smith Cruz-Chavez, 23 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat a 28 year-old woman in the head at a home on Shorter Avenue.

Reports stated that the victim suffered visible bleeding from the attack.

The incident occurred in front of a 3 year-old child.

Cruz-Chavez is charged with battery, 3^rd degree cruelty to children, and probation violation.
