Jonathan Lynn Stansell, 50 of Dallas, has been captured and booked into the Floyd County Jail following a string of storage unit break-ins that occurred in 2021.

Reports said that in March 2021, Stansell broke into storage units at 3745 Martha Berry Highway and stole numerous items such as clothing, a 24” TV, a toaster, a space heater, and personal items that contained the owner’s identification.  The items that were taken were valued at over $550.

Then in May 2021, Stanell allegedly broke into the same storage unit complex and stole a 2021 KTM SMR 690 motorcycle valued at $12,000.

Then in August 2021, Stansell is accused of breaking into storage units at 4727 Alabama Highway and stealing items such as tools and credit cards.

Police added that sometime between May and August 2021, Stansell allegedly broke into numerous storage buildings and stole three bicycles, a grill, a Rigid Router, a Stihl chainsaw, a Ryobi weed eater, baseball glove, Pneumatic cylinders, cloth and rubber couplings.  The total amount stolen was listed at over $3,261.

Stansell is charged with four counts 2nd 2nd-degree burglary, theft by taking a motor vehicle, theft by taking, financial transaction card fraud, and financial transaction card theft.
