Adrion Jermaine Sullivan Sr, 45 of Silver Creek, was arrested this week after reports said he used an object to nearly beat/strangle a person to death.
The incident occurred in front of a child at an apartment on Woodberry Drive.
Sullivan is charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children and failure to appear.
