Larry Jeffrey Pitts, 57 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he nearly killed his 80 year-old mother.
Reports stated that Pitts placed his hands around the victim’s neck and squeezed as she begged him to stop.
The incident occurred back on March at a home on Mathis Road.
Pitts is charged with aggravated assault, exploitation/intimidation of the elderly and probation violation.
