Joseph Russell Fountain, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he used his fingers to penetrate a sleeping woman’s sex organ.
Reports said that the victim began to fight off Fountain when he began to choke her with his hands. He then proceeded to strike the victim with his fist to her face, leaving visible injuries.
Authorities added that the victim’s two children attempted to intervene and help her.
Fountain is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated sexual battery, battery and two counts cruelty to children.
