Jeffrey David Lindsey, 37 of Lindale, was arrested this week after police said he nearly killed a 36 year-old man while imprisoning him in a home on Lakeview Drive.

Police said that Lindsey hit the victim over the head with the barrel of a gun.  The victim suffered a large, deep gash from the hit.

Lindsey is then accused of strangling the victim, which resulted in visible redness and bruising to the throat.

Lindsey then allegedly acted in an irate and belligerent manner outside the home with neighbors.

A search of the home by police then resulted in them reportedly finding several bags and jars containing marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, amphetamine, digital scales, glass smoking devices and packaging materials.

Lindsey is charged with two counts aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, reckless driving, disorderly conduct, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug related objects, felony possession of marijuana, and distribution of marijuana.
