Calhoun-based Mohawk Industries has become the latest to a list of those who have sued over PFAS in local waterways.

Mohawk filed the suit (read below) against 3M, DuPoint ,Daikin America and Chemours, last month in Whitfield County claiming they were not told of risk of PFAS in products they used to make carpet stain-resistant.

Beginning in 2016, Mohawk was named a defendant in a series of lawsuits concerning PFAS in drinking water.

Mohawk alleges fraud and misrepresentation of the risk of PFAS and was mislead regarding the safety of the chemicals.

They are seeking to be reimbursed by the defendants for past and future settlements and judgments, as well as PFAS reduction, removal, or remediation that Mohawk has or be required to undertake in the future.
