Tommy Lamar Howard, 63 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he threatened police following his committing a hit-and-run on Doncaster Drive.
Officers said that after locating Howard, they discovered that he had been driving under the influence of alcohol and with an unsafe vehicle.
While placing him under arrest, Howard is accused of pushing and pulling away while threatening to “beat up” officers.
Howard is charged with DUI, hit and run, driving on a suspended license, operating an unsafe vehicle and felony obstruction.
