Rome Man Jailed for Imprisoning, Trying to Murder Woman at Local Hotel

Elijah Vernon Ellenwood-Shaw, 26 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he imprisoned a 30 year-old woman while attempting to kill her.

Reports said that after imprisoning the woman inside a hotel on Martha Berry Blvd he attempted to kill her in front of a young child.

Reports did not indicate how he attempted to murder her.

Ellenwood-Shaw is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and 3^rd degree cruelty to children.
