A Calhoun City Schools paraprofessional, Keisha Leigh Carney, 46, of Resaca, has been arrested following “inappropriate conduct” with a student.
Reports said that Carney allegedly struck a student at Calhoun Elementary School
“As soon as the district became aware of the behavior, the paraprofessional was removed from the classroom, an investigation began, and the paraprofessional was terminated,” Calhoun Superintendent Dr. Michele Taylor said. “We take the safety and well-being of our students very seriously and we will continue to work with law enforcement in all areas.”
Carney is charged with simple battery and disorderly conduct.
