Charles Wayne Bannister, 56 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he stalked a 23 year-old woman.
Reports said that Bannister ignored a no-contact order with the victim when he reached out to her via telephone.
He was later located at Mr C’s Gas station on Martha Berry Blvd where he allegedly smelled of alcohol.
Bannister then reportedly told officers that he was drunk and was previously at a location he should not have been at. He also told police that he had been drinking in the parking lot before officers found an opened alcoholic beverage in his vehicle.
Bannister is charged with aggravated stalking, DUI, and opened container.
