Rome Couple Jailed for Beating Child with Broomstick, Hands

James Harlan Griffin Jr, 41, and Katherine Nichole Griffin, 42, both of Rome, were arrested this week after reports said they attacked a small child at a home on Cave Spring Road.

James is accused of hitting the child on his knee with a broomstick and then proceeded to drag him across the floor.

Katherine is then accused of hitting the child in the face and mouth with an open hand.

The incident occurred back in August at a hoe on Cave Spring Road.

Both are charged with 1^st degree cruelty to children.
