Michael Sumlin, 42 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said he was found in possession of methamphetamine while playing “ding ding” machines at a store on Buchanan Highway.
Officers said that while searching for another suspect they noticed Sumlin, who also had an active warrant, sitting at the machine and gambling. They then stated that they observed him throw something on the ground behind the machines.
Officers then discovered that the item thrown was a bag of methamphetamine.
A search of Sumlin then led them to find a meth pipe in his pants.
Sumlin is charged with possession of methamphetamine, abandonment of dangerous drugs, tampering with evidence, possession of drug related objects and probation violation.
