Lakyn Shaun Dougherty, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she lied to police about an incident involving a principal of a Floyd County School.
Reports said that Dougherty told police that the principal attempted to run over her 7 year-old child. However, an investigation found that the incident never happened.
Investigators did discover that she was allowing her 7 year-old child to ride a motorbike illegally on the roadway. Video evidence also showed that the child ran a stop sign while riding on the roadway.
Dougherty is charged with the false report of a crime and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
