Jacques Delano Fowlkes Jr, 30 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he committed a hit and run in Silver Creek,
Reports said that while driving on GA 101 near Spur 101, Fowlkes crossed the fog line and truck a mailbox before hitting another vehicle and then fleeing the scene.
He was later located on Dean Avenue where he was discovered to have been driving under the influence of alcohol.
Fowlkes is charged with DUI, hit and run and failure to maintain lane.
