John Hilaire, 27 of Rome, was arrested at the Floyd County Court House when he allegedly attacked a Floyd County sheriff’s deputy.
Reports said that Hilaire hit the deputy in the head and on the head.
He suffered deep scratches to her face and head that left visible injuries resulting in him having to seek medical treatment.
Hilaire is charged with felony obstruction, obstruction of law enforcement on duty which resulted in physical harm to the officer and aggravated battery against a police officer.
