Robert Clyde Burton Jr, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat a 32 year-old woman in the head and face before stealing her car.
Police said that Burton struck, headbutted and strangled the victim at an apartment on Alabama Highway before stealing her 2012 Hyundai Elantra.
.Burton is also accused of taking the victim’s klonopin and throwing it over a fence in which the police so the police could not find them.
Burton is charged with aggravated assault ,battery, theft by taking a motor vehicle and theft by taking.
