Nehemiah Isaiah Dashaun Beeman, 20 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said he was found in possession of a stolen Ruger handgun.
Police said that the arrest began with a traffic stop on East 17th Street for driving without his headlights on.
However, upon stopping, Beeman jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short chase he was captured and was found with the gun.
Beeman is charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
