Markeya Kenyell Dukes, 31 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she lied about her identity during a traffic investigation in which she caused a wreck.

Police said that Dukes maneuvered her vehicle during a left hand turn in a wide way that caused her to leave the roadway and strike a building near East 12th Street and Walnut Avenue.

Officers said that Dukes proceeded to give them the name and date of birth of her mother as her own during the investigation.

Dukes is charged with false statements and writings, giving false information to police, improper turn and probation violation.
