A 21 year-old Rome woman, Jeyonna ariah Underwood, has been arrested this week after causing the Rome High School football bus to wreck and injuring numerous students and coaches on Thursday night.

Reports said that the driver was driving a Nissan Versa southbound on GA 101 when it came over into the northbound lane in front of the bus.   After striking the bus, the Nissan rotated counter clockwise and traveled onto the shoulder of the road.   The impact caused the bus to cross the center lane and off of the roadway before overturning and hitting a power pole.

Underwood is charged with DUI, endangerment of a child and failure to maintain lane.

The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating. Possible other charges pending.
