Nycholas Tysean Strickland, 25 of Rome, was arrested at the Dollar Tree on Maple Avenue after he allegedly burglarized an apartment complex on Dodd Blvd.
Reports said that in late July, Strickland made threats to shoot and kill a 43 year-old man and his wife while burglarizing the complex. Strickland had been banned from the location back in April.
Officers stated that when they spotted Strickland at the Dollar Tree he proceeded to flee from deputies. After a brief chase, Strickland was captured. While being searched, police said that they found him in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine and a digital scale.
Strickland is charged with first degree burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats/acts, possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to distribute and obstruction.
