Ashley Nichole Scherer, 38 of Silver Creek, was arrested this week after reports said she stole $11,000 in jewelry from a woman’s purse on Wayside Road.
Reports added that Scherer proceeded to take the jewelry to Hometown Pawn and sell them before using the proceeds for hotel stays and food.
Scherer is charged with felony theft by taking and probation violation.
