Curtis Albert Chambers, 58 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he nearly beat a 57 year-old man to death with a wooden stick.
Reports stated that the victim suffered a broken wrist during the altercation.
The incident occurred at a home on Superba Avenue.
Chambers is charged with aggravated assault and probation violation.
