Christopher Matthew Jacks, 30 of Rome, was arrested on drug and theft charges after reports said he overdosed on heroin and fentanyl at a home on Chapel Road.
Reports said that heroin was found lying next to a spoon and Jacks inside the room.
The heroin was sent to the GBI crime lab where it tested posted for both heroin and fentanyl.
Jacks is also accused of stealing a vehicle valued at $1,500 from a woman.
Jacks is charged with theft by taking and possession of a schedule I controlled substance.
