Devonta Marquayle White, 31 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found illegally in possession of a gun during a probation check at his Paris Drive home.
Officers said that his probation officer discovered a Smith & Wesson handgun inside a backpack in his bedroom.
White is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation.
