The Floyd County Police Department arrested Ronnie Antonio Martin, 40 of Rome, on Wednesday after he allegedly kidnapped an 11 year-old child on Blacks Bluff Road.
Reports said that the incident began with a domestic altercation between Martin and the child’s mother. Martin is also accused of throwing the woman to the ground causing her to lose consciousness. Martin is also accused of causing the woman to suffer visible injuries to herr face, neck, hands and legs. Before forcibly removing the child from the home is also allegedly hit the family dog.
The child and Martin were found a short time later at a nearby property.
Martin is charged with Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping, Cruelty to Children 1st Degree (2 counts), Cruelty to Children 3rd Degree (2 counts), Theft by Taking, Battery and Cruelty to Animals.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
