Stevelle Lavelle Henderson, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into a mailbox in an effort to cause serious injury to a woman.

Henderson then allegedly threatened to kill the woman while she was yelling for help..

Officers added that Henderson then drove a vehicle backwards toward other vehicles before crashing into the mailbox.  He then fled the scene on foot while later ignoring officers commands to stop and place his hands behind his back.

After finally being restrained, Henderson is accused of continuing to fight with police.  Henerson then broke a cellphone which caused injury to an arresting officer.

Henderson is charged with aggravated assault, obstruction, failure to maintain lane, brake light violation, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, improper backing, duty upon striking fixture, reckless driving, criminal trespass, failure to appear and probation violation.
