Nathan Kendall Whorton, 26 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he ran from police while they were attempting a traffic stop while he was riding a bicycle.
Reports said that officers stopped Whorton in the Shannon Village when they observed him riding without proper lighting.
Whorton then proceeded to jump off his bike and run away on foot.
The incident occurred on Burlington Drive behind the Post Office.
Whorton is charged with obstruction of law enforcement.
