Phillemon Marcus Bowles, 37 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he imprisoned a woman inside of a home on Lindsey Drive where he attempted to kill her.
Police said that Bowles grabbed the victim by the hair and then threw her onto the bed where he proceeded to choke her until she was unable to breathe.
The incident occurred in front of two small children.
Bowles is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, simple assault, cruelty to children in the 3rd degree and parole violation.
