Rome Man Flees Scene of Wreck, Found Later with Drugs

Dalton Lee Godfrey, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after being found with drugs following him leaving the scene of an accident on GA 53.

Police said that Godfrey wrecked his vehicle when he failed to maintain his land but then fled the scene. 

Godfrey was later located and in the process being found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and Clonazepam.

Godfrey is charged with possession of meth, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, DUI, failure to maintain lane and probation violation.
