Floyd County Judge William Sparks sentenced David Wayne Huether, 63 of Lindale, to 30 years in prison and life of probation after being convicted of sexually abusing a mentally disabled child back in 2018.

Despite being arrested in 2019, the case was postponed pending a psychiatric evaluation.  However, Huether, who has been out on bond, refused to work with state mental health officials.

Huether remained steadfast claiming his innocence during sentencing this week.
