Christopher Avery Jones, 30 of Armuchee, was arrested this week after reports said he pounced a woman before using his fist to repeatedly beat her in the face. Jones then allegedly placed his hands around her throat in an effort to choke her out.
Witnesses told police that they saw Jones on top of the victim beating her in the face at a home on Teat Street in Lindale.
Police added that the victim was left with bruising to her face and neck.
Jones is charged with aggravated assault.
