Shania Pierre Jeanty, 31 of Silver Creek, , was arrested this week after reports said she allowed her 9 year-old child to continually miss school without a doctor’s note.
Reports said that Hicks’ daughter missed 10 unexcused days of school this school year. This was after she signed a truancy agreement on March 28th of last year stating that she would not allow her child to miss school unexcused. A warning was sent to Hicks on March 7th before again allowing her child to miss school on March 26th.
Jeanty is charged with the mandatory education of a child.
