Ray Ellis Carver Jr, 59 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he stalked, beat, and hit a woman’s car.

Police said that on February 18th, Carver beat the victim in the face and grabbed her arms, all of which resulted in visible injury. Police added that the victim suffered a black eye and scratches from the altercation.

After being told to stay away from the victim, three days later, Carver is accused of following the victim from Summerville for over 8 miles before striking her car.

When police located Carver on Martha Berry Highway near Coligni Way they observed him throwing physical evidence out of his vehicle while initially failing to stop for officers.

Bryant is charged with simple assault, battery, stalking, tampering with evidence, failure to maintain lane, improper lane chance, operation of a vehicle on approach of emergency vehicles and failure to maintain lane.
