A juvenile correctional sergeant, Naji Cooke, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he assaulted a juvenile at the Rome Youth Detention Center.
Police said that on February 9th of this year, Cooke used his hands to strangle the juvenile.
Cooke is charged with aggravated assault and violation of oath by public officer.
