Warming Shelters Opened Around Floyd County

The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency released a list of arming shelters that have been opened in Rome:

Salvation Army, 317 E. 1st Ave.

Davies Shelter (men), 132 E. 18th St. (706-512-1152)

Davies Shelter (women), 2007 N. Broad St. (706-802-6300)

United Way of Rome and Floyd County, 1304 N. Broad St. (706-622-1900)

Garden Lakes Baptist, 2200 Redmond Circle (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.)

Renovation Church, 13 Redmond Court (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Westminster Presbyterian, 1941 Shorter Ave. (open Friday and Saturday, 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.)

According to Floyd County EMA Director Tim Arrington, “We are going to keep the shelters open until Thursday and then look again at reopening over the weekend.:”
