Jessica Jones Akins, 43 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she was found with methamphetamine after being pulled over for driving under the influence of drugs.

Police said that Atkins caused a wreck while under the influence of drugs. After hitting numerous mailboxes, Akins fled the scene. She then failed to yield the right of way and caused another wreck.

Reports said that while being transported to a local hospital via an ambulance, EMS personnel saw the suspect move meth from her bra to her pants. After arriving at the hospital, Akins stripped down, which resulted in the meth falling out of her pocket and seized by authorities.

Atkins is charged with possession of methamphetamine, DUI drugs, reckless driving, too fast for conditions, failure to maintain lane, and a stop sign violation.
