The Rome Police Department announced the promotion of Rodney Bailey as the new assistant police chief on Tuesday.
Bailey succeeds Debbie Burnett who retired at the end of last year.
Other officers who were promoted on Tuesday were Sgt. David Metroka, Sgt. Josh Glover, Lt. Ryan Hutchins, and Capt. Pete Sailors.
