Tawuan Marcel Howell, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat and choked a woman nearly to death at a home on Royal Oaks Drive.
Police said that Howell struck the woman in the face, pulled her hair, and pulled her mouth causing swelling and a cut to her lip.
The victim also suffered scratches to her forehead and arms.
During the altercation, Howell also placed his hands around the victim’s neck to the point she felt like she was going to die.
Howell is charged with aggravated battery and battery.
