Pamela Diann Reese Askew, 51 of Shannon, and Michael Phillip Whitaker, 54 of Telford TN, were arrested this week after reports said they were found with an assortment of drugs following a shoplifting spree at Walmart.
Reports said that Whitaker allegedly stole a watch and pliers from the East Rome Walmart. (Valued at $5.30).
Officers approached the suspect’s vehicle where they then spotted an open container of Bud Light.
A search then resulted in officers finding methamphetamine, a smoking device containing meth residue, , gabapentin, and THC gummies.
Whitaker is also accused of lying about his identity to police.
Askew is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule I and IV controlled substance, possession of drug related objects and open container violation.
Whitaker is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule I and V controlled substance, theft by shoplifting, possession of drug related objects and open container.
