Patrick Rodricas Smith, 42 of Rome, was captured this week after reports said he burglarized numerous businesses over the past year.
Reports said that on December 5, 2022, Smith used a rock to break the glass of a business on Burnett Ferry Road and then proceeded to steal lottery tickets.
Then on December 27, 2022 Smith was accused of using a rock to break into a business on Martha Berry Highway and burglarized it. Authorities were able to use a fingerprint obtained at the scene to identify the suspect.
On January 3, 2023, he was again accused of using a rock to break into a business and steal lottery tickets. This occurred on New Calhoun Highway.
Then on January 15, 2023, he forcefully entered a business on Maple Avenue and stole money from the resister after it had closed. In this burglary, Smith is accused of damaging ceiling tiles above the ATM machine.
Smith is charged with four counts burglary and criminal trespass.
